I saw the final Harry Potter a few days ago and it feels very odd knowing it’s all over. Like almost every other (cool) person on the planet, I adore Harry Potter. I was 10 when Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone came out (in 1997, which makes me feel very old) and I quickly became obsessed. My grandma pre-ordered every book for me, and every time we went to buy one together the anticipation and excitement would be unbearable, and I would start reading it as soon as we got in the car and wouldn’t put it down until I’d finished it. They had a huge impact on me and 14 years later I still love to read them because they take me straight back to feeling like I’m 10 again. The films are all great in their own way, but, for me, they will never compare to the books.
